Filed: 9/19/12 Issued: 2/2/16 An absorbent device, comprising: a base layer; an intermediate absorbent layer consisting of superabsorbent polymer particles and at least one adjuvant disposed intermediate two layers of single-ply cellulosic tissue; and a top layer comprising a porous, hydrophilic, nonwoven spun bonded polymer fiber mat,. The base and top layers are sealed directly together with an adhesive and encapsulate the intermediate absorbent layer with the superabsorbent polymer particles.
